With the creativity of an artist and the human knowledge of a psychoanalyst, Maria Maguire's paintings have always been something special - evoking imagination and insight in equal measure. It's a brilliant combination which has already won the self-taught artist a legion of fans (her first solo exhibition, in The 101 last November, sold out completely), touching people in a places they didn't even know were there!
In her second solo exhibition (at the The Front Lounge in Parliment Street), Maria combines Classical and Celtic Mythology with the female form to create a magical and moving exploration of the human condition. "SAOIRSE: A Free Soul Collection" draws on images of Greek and Celtic Goddesses to create a study of something far deeper than the superficial aesthetic - pure human emotion and divine intervention.
